1. Where / When are the Convocation Ceremonies taking place?

All convocation ceremonies will be held in Hall 5 at The International Centre (6900 Airport Rd, Mississauga, ON, L4V 1E8)

Graduates of the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 terms are invited to attend their Convocation Ceremony taking place between June 6-9, 2022, refer to the Convocation Ceremony Schedule.

** Subject to any changes in public health measures.


2. Will there be any COVID Protocols for Convocation Ceremony attendees?

Yes. Masks will be worn at all times while inside the International Centre. All individuals who attend including graduates will be required to wear a mask.

Proof of vaccination will not be required.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available.

To ensure everyone’s safety, there will be no handshakes when crossing the stage. Graduates may lower their mask for photos.


3. Can I get a letter confirming my Convocation dates so my international guests can apply for a visitor's VISA?

This letter confirms the June Convocation ceremony dates and can be used to support the travel requirements for your family to attend your convocation.

Note: Sheridan College does not provide a letter of invitation as this is the responsibility of the person inviting family members to Canada.

4. I have a question about my graduation status. Or, I have not received an email to apply to graduate. What should I do?

5. How do I receive my credential: Diploma, certificate, or degree?

Winter term 2022 graduates will receive their credential at their Convocation ceremony. Graduates from earlier terms have already received their credential via UPS courier.

If you do not attend your Convocation Ceremony, your credential will be mailed following the Convocation ceremonies. Expect to receive it in early July to the address we have on file.


6. When will I have access to my Digital credential – parchment?

You will receive an email from Parchment Award, the company we have partnered with to provide a digital copy of your parchment. Once you create an account, you will be able to access your digital copy and share with your family and friends.


7. My name and address have changed from what is currently on Sheridan's files.

If you need to change your home address or your email, please log in to myStudent Centre to update the information.

If your name is incorrect, please email academic-history@sheridancollege.ca to update the information. You will be required to provide official documentation supporting your name change.

Be advised that as you cross the stage at your convocation ceremony your name will be projected and visible to the audience.


8. How can I get graduation photos taken?

Sheridan Student Union has partnered with a third party for graduation photos.

9. How can I stay connected to Sheridan College after graduation?

Upon graduation, you will join the Sheridan Alumni Association. As a member, you will receive an annual alumni digital magazine, Ovation, plus our monthly e-newsletter, exclusive event invitations and benefit offers from affinity partners. 10. When should I arrive at the International Centre on the day of my Convocation?

Graduating students must be checked in 90 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. The process to prepare for Convocation takes approximately one hour (select gown, register for Marshalling Card, receive instructions for Procession, etc.)


11. What should I bring to the ceremony?

Graduates must bring their Sheridan oneCard or government issued photo ID.

Guests should bring their printed Convocation Ceremony ticket. Tickets are issued to graduates who have completed the RSVP in myStudent Centre. Tickets will be issued via email to their Sheridan student email.

As gowns do not have pockets, personal belongings should be minimal.

Please do not bring large handbags or knapsacks with you. You will be asked to leave them with your guests. They will not be permitted with you to cross the stage.


12. What should I wear?

We suggest business or business casual attire with comfortable shoes. Note: the gown can be warm, please dress accordingly.


13. Are outside drinks allowed?

No outside food or drink is allowed inside the International Centre.


14. Is there a photographer on site on the day of Convocation?

Friends and family are welcome to photograph graduates during the convocation ceremony from their seats. During Convocation a photography company will be on site to capture student photos.

Should you wish to receive proofs after your ceremony, you MUST check the consent box while completing the online Convocation Ceremony RSVP form. If you have given consent, the photography company will email graduates directly with details on how to view your proofs, following graduation. If you are not sure, you can go back into the form and double check.


15. What can I purchase to commemorate my Achievement?

Several items can be purchased to commemorate your achievement:

Note: Helium balloons are not permitted in the venue.


16. Do graduates require a ticket?

Graduating students do not require a ticket. Tickets are issued with no charge for your guests.


17. How do I RSVP for my Convocation Ceremony, request guest tickets & select my gown size?

Log in to myStudent Centre and complete the Convocation Ceremony RSVP form. Indicate the number of guest tickets you require and select your gown size.

Instructions on how to print your tickets will be emailed to your Sheridan email account before the end of May. If you have not received your tickets by May 31st, please email convocation@sheridancollege.ca


18. What should I do if I've forgotten my Sheridan username or password?

If you have forgotten or misplaced your username or password, an Information Specialist can assist you.

Please call our Contact Centre at 905-845-9430.

For Post Secondary programs select option #4.

For Continuing Education select option #3.


19. How do I order my gown? How do I know what size to order?

Gown size is determined by your height in centimetres or in feet and inches. Be sure to enter your height when completing the Convocation Ceremony RSVP form.

You will pick up your gown on the day of your ceremony at the International Centre.


20. I have lost my tickets, what should I do? Can you re-issue them?

If you have misplaced your tickets, you should be able to reprint them from your email. If not, please have your guests check in at the Sheridan ticket booth at the International Centre on the day of your ceremony and we will reissue them to you. (Your guests will require your student number for this).


21. I can no longer attend Convocation.

If you are unable to attend or have changed your mind about attending Convocation after you have already registered, go back into the Convocation Ceremony RSVP form and change your choice to 'Not Attend'.


22. Will the Convocation Ceremonies be video recorded?

Sheridan will live stream the Convocation Ceremonies. Direct your family and friends to watch the live stream of each ceremony on the Convocation page.


23. What is the Sheridan Grad Celebration?

If you've graduated from Sheridan and your convocation was virtual, you may attend the Grad Celebration on June 9-11 in Hall 5 at The International Centre (6900 Airport Rd, Mississauga, ON, L4V 1E8).

You’ll be able to physically cross the stage in your regalia and celebrate your achievement with classmates, professors, family and friends.
