Under the Ontario Government’s Student Choice Initiative, you must declare your "Intent to Register" to indicate that you will attend Sheridan in the upcoming term.

 

There are two ways to declare your intent to register:

 

Pay your fees/ fee deposit
  • International students
  • New students
  • Students returning to Sheridan for their first term of the academic year
Complete the Intent to Register form
  • Domestic, returning students who have previously attended Sheridan during the academic year.


What do I need to do for the Winter 2020 term?

I am starting a new program in Winter 2020

  • Pay your $500 fee deposit by the date stated on your Fee Estimate to secure your place in your program and qualify for the early registration period.
  • Non-OSAP students must pay all outstanding fees for the Winter term by January 20, 2020. (OSAP will pay outstanding fees by February 13, 2020.)

What if I change my mind?

If you decide not to attend Sheridan in Winter 2020 after paying your fee deposit, you must formally withdraw by January 17. If you do not withdraw by the deadline, you will be required to pay the full tuition and fees for the Winter 2020 term.

I am an International Student

  • Pay your fees by the date stated on your Fee Estimate to secure your place in your program and be eligible for the early registration period.

What if I change my mind?
The International Centre must be notified in writing of all withdrawals prior to the 10th day (January 17) of class. All fees are subject to a non-refundable registration charge. This charge varies by program. Withdrawal Deadline dates can be found on the Academic Calendar. If a student withdraws after the withdrawal deadline, no refund will be issued and all outstanding fees must be paid.

 

International students who are refused their study permit will receive a full refund of fees paid provided they show proof of the refusal (copy of Immigration document) within the first 10 days of classes. The Health Insurance fee of $550 is non-refundable after the first day of class. All other refundable fees, except the late charge, will be refunded. Refunds will be paid by cheque to registered students only. Please allow six weeks for processing a refund.

 

Students who pay for two terms in advance will receive a full refund of second semester fees providing the withdrawal is received prior to the fee payment deadline date of the subsequent term.

I am returning to Sheridan in Winter 2020, but I did not attend any post secondary classes in Fall 2019

  • Non-OSAP students must pay all outstanding fees for the Winter term by January 20, 2020 (OSAP will pay outstanding fees by February 13, 2020.)

  • Declare your Intent to Register by November 20 to qualify for the early registration period.
  • Non-OSAP students must pay all outstanding fees for the Winter term by January 20, 2020 (OSAP will pay outstanding fees by February 13, 2020.)

What happens if I miss the November 20 deadline?

You can declare your Intent to Register up until Day 5 of classes (January 10, 2020). However, if you miss the November 20, 2019, deadline, enrolment will be delayed.

I attended classes in Fall 2019, but I will not attend Sheridan in Winter 2020.

  • If you're not scheduled to attend Sheridan during the Winter 2020 (eg it's your vacation term), you don't need to update the Intent to Register form.
  • If you are supposed to attend Sheridan but have decided to take a semester off, then you should check the "I will not attend" option in the Intent to Register Form and complete the Withdrawal Form for the Winter 2020 term.

Fall 2019 is my final semester.

How to declare your Intent to Register

 

To declare your intent to register:

  1. Log in to myStudent Centre
  2. Under the Academics section click the Intent to Register link
  3. Select "I will attend" or "I will not attend". Once you have made your selection, click "Confirm".
  4. You can revise your choice until day 5 of classes.
