To apply for a refund:

All refund requests must be submitted by email to international@sheridancollege.ca prior to May 20, 2022. All fees are subject to a non-refundable registration charge. This charge varies by program in the range of CAD $1038-$3800. If a student withdraws after the withdrawal deadline, no refund will be issued and all outstanding fees must be paid.

International students who are refused their study permit or who do not meet the conditions of their offer will receive a full refund of fees paid minus a $200 administrative fee. For refused study permits, students must provide a proof of the refusal (copy of Immigration document) before May 20, 2022. The Health Insurance fee of $395 is non-refundable after the first day of class. All other refundable fees, except the late charge, will be refunded. Refunds will be paid by wire transfer to registered students only. Please allow six to eight weeks for processing a refund.

International students who pay for two terms in advance will receive a full refund of second semester fees providing the withdrawal is received prior to the fee payment deadline date of the subsequent term.

To apply for a deferral:

All deferral requests must be submitted by email to international@sheridancollege.ca prior to May 20, 2022. Deferrals are subject to admission requirements, space availability and your previous deferral history, and cannot be always accommodated.

  • Deferrals that can be accommodated will be processed with no deduction in fees.
  • Deferral requests that cannot be accommodated will be processed as refunds, with fee deduction as per the refund policy.

Please think carefully before making a refund or deferral request. Once it is processed, we will not be able to put you back to Spring/Summer 2022 semester.

Special notes for international students whose visas are refused after beginning their studies remotely:

Due to the extenuating circumstances caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic, you may apply for an exception to obtain a refund as per Sheridan’s Fees Refund/Reversal of Charge Appeal Policy/Procedure for Students if you receive a visa refusal after the official refund deadline which is May 20, 2022 for the Spring/Summer term.

If you receive a visa refusal after this date and wish to withdraw, you are required to: (1) complete the online withdrawal available in myStudent Centre, and (2) submit a copy of the refusal from IRCC to international@sheridancollege.ca. The Fee Refund Appeal Committee will then consider your request for a refund of tuition minus any non-refundable fees as per Paragraph 4.3.5 of the related Procedure (i.e. administrative fee of $200, health insurance fees, program kit fees, etc.).

You will not receive academic credit for the term in which you receive a refund. Entrance scholarship, if awarded, will be reversed.

The application and required documents must be received by Sheridan by the end of the term in order to be considered for a refund. The last day of the Spring/Summer term is August 19, 2022.

To be clear, if you do not submit the application or related documents by the end of the term, or if you receive a refusal from IRCC after the end of the term, you will not be eligible to receive a refund for that term.
