International Work Study Program

The International Work Study Program supports part-time and full-time Sheridan positions for eligible international students. Thanks to a $250,000 gift from Scotiabank’s ScotiaRISE program, for the next two years Sheridan will be able to fund more Work Study positions for international students, thus enabling them to gain work experience which is essential to help them succeed in Canada. Students must apply for the Work Study Program each term and may be approved to work for one Sheridan employer.

International students are highly encouraged to book an appointment to meet with a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) here at Sheridan to learn more about their work authorization and to get answers to questions relating to their immigration status and working in Canada.

International students are also encouraged to register for one of our weekly virtual immigration sessions. These sessions are delivered by one of Sheridan's highly knowledgeable and experienced RISIAs. At these sessions, students will gain important knowledge pertaining to their status in Canada as well as generate their own correct IRCC online application.

Please see below for helpful links from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) about working as an international student in Canada:

The Financial Aid & Awards Office offers two Work Study options:
